Peter Yan
  • Introduction

  • Bio

Peter Yan examines Australia’s expansive coastal landscape from an unusual perspective. The LUMAS artist photographed the country’s famous Rock Pools from a bird’s eye view. Not only do these manmade pools offer protection from the unseen dangers of the ocean (riptides, creatures, etc.), they also fit seamlessly into the tremendous rock landscape.

“Life is short, and I want to see as much of the world as possible,” the photographer says. He is especially fascinated by drone photography, even though it can be an exercise in patience waiting for the perfect weather and wind conditions. Even then, he only has a very short window to get the perfect shot.

The results are breathtaking compositions bursting with mesmerizing beauty.
Chinese-born, Australian photographer Peter Yan came into the world in 1986. Since then, he has visited more than 30 countries. Yan specializes in drone photography and his work has appeared in publications like GQ and Lonely Planet. He has collaborated with many international brands including Lexus and Daniel Wellington. He also won the Australia from Above competition. Yan now lives and work in Melbourne.
